Minnesota Planetarium Society changes Zodiac [UPDATE]
Everything you think you know about zodiac signs is wrong.
So there you are, thinking that you've been a passionate, mercurial and obsessive Scorpio your whole life and boom, now you're a Libra. A Libra! Indecisive, gullible, self-indulgent.
For this news, and for completely upending those worthless pick-up lines you've heard in bars all these years, you can thank the Minnesota Planetarium Society. They've decided the Zodiac is wrong.
It has something to do with our moon making the Earth wobble on its axis, throwing off our calendars and messing with our horoscopes. For example:
The Earth spins and, like a toy top, the spin axis moves around, pointing in different directions. Today, Earth's spin axis points toward the pole star, Polaris. Around 3000 BC Earth's spin axis pointed toward Thuban. Wait 26,000 years and the north star will again be Thuban. ... This means that if the sun was "in" a certain constellation on a particular date, it is in a different constellation on that date today.
How bad is this news? Everything you know is off by a month because we've been relying on ancient signs that haven't kept pace with the solar system's wobbly ways.
And heaven forbid your birthday falls between Nov. 29 and Dec. 17, because now you're something called an Ophiuchus.
This is your sign -- now.
