Minneapolis woman sexually assaulted twice in two weeks

The 32-year-old south Minneapolis woman who was sexually assaulted and beaten in her detached garage less than two weeks ago was sexually assaulted again. Police believe it was the same man.

On Wednesday, the man forced his way into her home when she opened the back door. She was home alone.

The first incident happened on April 23. The woman fought back and suffered facial and head injuries during the attack. Both incidents happened in the afternoon.

The descriptions of suspects and details from the Star Tribune:

The suspect in the first assault was described as 20 to 40 years old, race unknown, 5-foot-9 to 6-feet tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt and jeans.

Wednesday's description of the suspect was similar: 30 to 40 years old, white, 6-feet tall, 180 to 200 pounds with gray hair. He, too, was wearing a gray sweatshirt.

Investigators don't believe the victim and the suspect are acquainted.

Police asked anyone with information about the case to contact the department's sex crimes unit at 612-673-3049.
