Minneapolis traffic alert: Twins and Vikings play at home tonight
More than 100,000 people are expected to clog Minneapolis this evening as the city braces for something it's never seen before: Simultaneous home games for the Vikings and the Twins downtown, thanks to brand-new Target Field.
The Vikings play the Denver Broncos in the Metrodome at 7 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m.
The Twins face the Detroit Tigers at 7:10 p.m. at Target Field. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.
The City of Minneapolis offers a menu of ideas for minimizing your traffic headaches. Download it here.
Our suggestion: Come early and stay late, via transit if you can. There's a ton of restaurants, bars and shopping to occupy your time downtown.
