Minneapolis Public Schools will open Wednesday

Two days after the Big Snow Dump

Two days after the Big Snow Dump

Snowmaggedon 2010 will go down in the books as the storm that managed to throw even us hardy Minnesotans off: Two days of school closures, buses packed like sardines, and streets that still aren't clean after five consecutive days of snow emergencies. [jump]

The good news is that it looks like the aftermath of the Big Snow Dump is finally winding down. Tomorrow, Wednesday December 15, is Day 3 of snow emergency number 2. That means that our city streets should be completely wiped clean, and buses should be able to run as normal.

Update: We've also learned that Minneapolis Public Schools will be open on Wednesday after being closed both Monday and Tuesday.

"Some of the bus routes were still blocked by snow," said Rachel Hicks, spokesperson with Minneapolis Schools told us this morning. "With temperatures as extreme as they were, [there was a] safety concern of having students waiting for an extended period of time."

We're updating this information all day, and we'll let you know when we've got more news.

Oh yeah. And it looks like its going to snow again--but just a little bit--on Thursday.
