Minneapolis beaches, pools, water parks announce closing dates

It may be hard to believe with the humid, sunny weather we have had lately, but in about two weeks Minneapolis pools, beaches, and other water-based facilities will be closing. Pour some beer on your sidewalk tonight for your favorite beach or wading pool. Summer, we hardly knew ye.
A complete list of locations and dates follows the jump.
No more lifeguards on duty at these beaches starting Sunday, August 16:
Calhoun 32nd, North and Thomas beaches
Cedar Point and East Cedar beaches
Harriet North and Southeast beaches
Lake Hiawatha Beach
Nokomis 50th and Main beaches
No more swimming at these locations Sunday, August 30:
Hiawatha School Park
Jim Lupient Water Park
North Commons Water Park
Don't be swimming here Monday, September 7:
... and the Wabun wading pool closes Sunday, September 13.
