Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann has been busted again by PolitiFact for her claims about President Barack Obama's health care reform package.
This time it came after she made fictional claims about the bill while appearing on CNN's "Larry King Live" with Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Fla. (Update: Not that anyone commenting on her Facebook page noticed or cared.)
Bachmann criticized Democratic plans for health care reform because they don't reduce costs enough. "President Obama's bill won't bring down the costs (of health care) for average Americans -- or really for very few Americans, if any," she said. We rated that False.
Last year, Bachmann made PolitiFact's "Lie of the year" list for another piece of fiction she promulgated on Sean Hannity's yakfest: about health care reform:
"It says specifically that people can't purchase private health insurance after a date certain, which means people will ultimately go into a single-payer plan where it is government providing health care and only one single government system. That's why this is so bad, Sean. This is socialized medicine ... This is, as I said, the crown jewel of socialism. It's what Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have wanted from the very beginning."
That claim was "a serious misrepresentation," PolitiFact said.
