Michele Bachmann Fundraising for Stewart Mills

itemprop

Michele Bachmann's star has certainly faded since the halcyon days of 2011, but nobody has ever questioned her ability to fundraise.

So it's worth noting that yesterday, Bachmann sent an email to her supporters pleading with them to contribute to Stewart Mills's congressional campaign.

"Please show Stewart Mills the same brand of fierce loyalty and financial leadership that you have shown me by making your online contribution of $10, $35, $50, $100, or even $250," Bachmann writes. "Majority control of Congress is at stake."

Bachmann goes on to praise Mills...

Stewart and his family are entrepreneurs who make our free enterprise system go. So of course the liberals ridicule him for that. Stewart is an outdoorsman -- he camps, fishes, and hunts. So naturally the Democrats disparage him for that.
... and blast the Eighth District incumbent he's challenging, Democrat Rick Nolan:
Stewart's opponent is a devotee of the Obama Doctrine and the Pelosi Agenda, so of course the Far Left Wing of the Democrat Party think he's brilliant. Serving with Democrat Rick Nolan, I've got to say that some of his issue stands are downright bizarre ... like his view that ObamaCare doesn't go far enough. The fact that the NRA gives him an "F" rating speaks for itself!
"Because [Mills] stands by our Constitution, he's under withering attack from every liberal-radical cause you know," Bachmann concludes. "They mean business. That's why conservatives from coast-to-coast and throughout the heartland are rallying to Stewart's side."

Brandon Lorenz, spokesman for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, says he's not surprised Bachmann is a Mills backer.

"Michele Bachmann has no doubt endorsed Stewart Mills III because they share an agenda of standing against raising the minimum wage while supporting tax cuts for the ultra wealthy," Lorenz tells us.

They might have some commonalities politically, but one thing is pretty much certain -- you won't see Mills make any campaign appearances with Bachmann.

A KSTP/SurveyUSA poll conducted earlier this month showed Mills up by eight points over Nolan. That result was somewhat surprising, as earlier polls indicated the race was essentially a tossup.
