Matthew Fahey charged with raping newspaper delivery girl in cemetery
Renville County prosecutors say that 25-year-old Mathew Fahey kidnapped a teenage girl at gunpoint while she working her newspaper delivery route on Tuesday in Fairfax, drove her to a cemetery, raped her on a dirt road and then apologized to her as he drove away while she lay on the ground.
Four felony counts were filed against Fahey today, including including kidnapping and first-degree criminal sexual conduct. He's being held in the county jail pending arraignment.
Police say the the girl's mother went looking for her on Tuesday morning after she didn't come home on time, and called police at about 8 a.m. when she spotted her daughter's bike along the route. She was located about a half-hour later after she called police.
