The man who fell or jumped off the Franklin Avenue 35W overpass, landed on an open-top convertible and died has been identified by authorities. Adam R. Hauf, 23, of St. Louis Park, died Sunday evening at the scene. No one else was seriously injured in the fall.
According to the Star Tribune, Hauf landed on a convertible's windshield going northbound, then on the driver who had their car top down. He eventually hit the road and died. The driver and their passenger were OK.
Authorities say Hauf had "self-inflicted injuries prior to jumping."
According to his obituary in the Strib today, "Adam loved music, adventure, outdoors and traveling and was proud to be a donor." His family is asing for donations in his memory to S.A.V.E.( Suicide Awareness Voices of Education) 8120 Penn Av. S., Suite 470, Bloomington, MN 55437.
