The man faces mail theft and fleeing a peace officer charges.
According to police, the man was spotting riding a bicycle Aug. 8 in Cottage Grove. When he noticed the police, he tried to flee as mail flew out of his pockets. When police asked him why he had other people's mail, he said he was locked out of his house and got "bored" so he thought it would be "funny" to steal mail. Hilarious!
The man could spend six years in prison and pay an $11,000 fine for his boredom prank.
Funny side note: We gave KSTP the benefit of the doubt while reading their report on this incident.
They have the following sentence in their story, which made us do a double take:
Nicholas Charges Jennrich faces mail theft and feeling a peace officer.
