A jury found 23-year-old Jamaal Freeman guilty in the baseball bat-beating death of a Minneapolis bicyclist. The jury convicted him of second-degree murder and first-degree aggravated robbery in the 2007 death of 41-year-old Mark Loesch. Freeman cornered Loesch in a yard, killed him with a baseball bat, and then robbed him.

An 18-year-old woman on the Red Lake reservation is accused of stabbing a 14-year-old boy to death in April. The woman is also connected with knife cuts to two other boys in the incident, according to charges. No motive has been released.
