Man, 68, repeatedly stabs woman as she sits on toilet

We're not quite sure what led this man to repeatedly stab this woman in Granite Falls, but we'd have to say she was in one of the most defenseless places she could be: sitting on the toilet.

Curtis David Quale, 68, has been charged with second-degree attempted murder and first- and second-degree assault for the stabbing. No word if it was his home too, if they were related or what led to the attack.

More from the West Central Tribune:

According to the complaint, around 8 a.m. Friday, the county dispatch center received a call from Quale requesting an ambulance at 755 Ninth Ave. because "I stabbed Michelle." Officers and emergency personnel responded to the home to find Quale with cut marks on his hands and a bite mark on his arm and blood on the front steps and front door handle.

Quale directed them to Young, who was found on the floor.

Officers noticed that the bathroom tub area was "completely covered in blood." A paramedic determined that Young had been stabbed numerous times. Quale allegedly directed the officers to the location of a knife, with what appeared to be blood on it, behind a microwave in the kitchen.

The victim, Michelle Annette Young, 47, is hospitalized at the Hennepin County Medical Center. She told police she came home from the casino and was sitting on the toilet when she was attacked.
