Mall of America unveils new logo, tagline [IMAGE]
"The ribbons depict the multitude of the always fresh, exciting, and new experiences at Mall of America, which is the magic of the brand," a press release says.
After more than 20 years, Mall of America officials have decided it's time for a logo makeover.
Yesterday, a press release unveiled the Megamall's new logo (visible above) and tagline -- "Always New."
Some folks have objected to the new look, which was designed by Duffy & Partners, on grounds that the Mall of America shouldn't ditch a red, white, and blue color scheme, but mall officials plan to use different colors in the new logo to reflect holidays and other events.
In the release, Maureen Bausch, Mall of America executive vice president of business development, characterized the mall as "never static."
"We are always new, constantly changing to offer the latest, hottest, and most memorable experiences for our guests," Bausch said. "Therefore, we are moving away from a static logo and incorporating a dynamic colorful design, making use of innovative digital media. The new logo reflects our 20 years of evolution, while paving the way for all of the fresh, exciting, new plans for Mall of America."
Here's a side-by-side comparison of the mall's new logo and the old one:
