Ladell James Antone Johnson charged with murdering Stanley Curtis Rogers
Police say that 58-year-old Stanley Curtis Rogers was shot dead in a van on the night of Jan. 21 by Ladell James Antone Johnson in a robbery gone bad.
Johnson, 18, was arrested Friday by MPD's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team. He's now been charged with murdering Rogers, and is being held in the Hennepin County jail.
Homicide investigators also arrested a a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl in connection with the case. They're being held at the county Juvenile Detention Center.
Police say that a teenage girl told Johnson that Rogers was carrying crack and cash, and that Johnson and another, unidentified, teen suspect opened fire on the van in an alley behind 3656 Clinton Ave. S. in Minneapolis.
Police and medics found Rogers after a shots-fired report at about 10 p.m. He's the second homicide victim in Minneapolis this year. His death follows the brutal murder of Krissy Bates on Jan. 4.
