Matt Kalil met with the media this afternoon to talk about his post-game confrontation with a heckler yesterday.
Kalil downplayed the incident and apologized to the media for ducking out before speaking with them after the game. See also: Video of Matt Kalil Confronting Fan Surfaces, Fan Says He Will Press Charges
"It was one of those things when I walked away I was like 'what am I doing?' That guy was not really worth my time. Whatever happened, happened. I'll obviously learn from that and won't let him get the best of me, I think he just caught me at the right moment," he said in a video posted to the Vikings website.
Kalil said he's been struggling with his confidence and a bum knee that has been bothering him "off and on." He's going to have to get better because today news broke that the team's other starting tackle, Phil Loadholt, will be out for the rest of the season with a torn pectoral muscle.
"[The fan] was just talking. He's just a fan, so, not a big deal. He just caught me when I had a short fuse that day. I'm usually pretty good at keeping my composure and talking to you guys and stuff, so hopefully I didn't offend anyone by walking out of the locker room," Kalil told reporters in a five-minute chat. "It wasn't my best day."
