Josh Hartnett endorses Betsy Hodges for mayor
Harnett's endorsement is arguably the hottest so far in the mayoral race.
Betsy Hodges' latest endorsement is looking pretty good in more ways than one.
South High School graduate turned world-famous movie star Josh Hartnett is throwing his support behind Betsy's bid to become Minneapolis mayor. That may bode well for Hodges, as Harnett's most recent previous foray into Minnesota politics produced the results he was hoping to achieve -- he campaigned for President Obama's reelection in the state last year.
Hodges announced Hartnett's endorsement in a tweet:
-- Betsy Hodges (@betsyhodges) August 13, 2013
Considering none of the serious candidates are known to support whatever 20th century solutions would be, Hartnett's rationale for backing Betsy is a little unsatisfying. But we don't doubt the politically aware movie star has had a few conversations about the mayoral race at Lucia's, which we hear is his preferred Minneapolis haunt.
