Hackley crashed after fleeing police.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has identified Jordan Anthony Hackley as the driver who fled from police Wednesday evening, crashed his car at a Lake Street intersection and later died at HCMC.

He was 19 years old and wanted on a felony weapons possession charge. Court records show he also had previous run ins with the law over stolen cars, fake IDs, DWI and -- again -- fleeing police.

Hackley was suspected of taking part in a south Minneapolis assault at at East 28th Street and 31st Avenue South when the chase began. It ended not long afterward, when he drove into the intersection of 40th Avenue and East Lake crashed into two other vehicles.

MPD says the chase never went over posted speed limits. Anyone with information about the original assault call or who can provide any other information is asked to call the TIPS Line at 612-692-TIPS.
