John McCain pulls out of Michigan for Wisconsin's love
We here at City Pages hate Wisconsinites, but apparently Sen. John McCain can't get enough of them. He's pulling out of Michigan to focus more of his efforts on Wisconsin. The state is playing hard to get, but McCain doesn't give up easily. McCain knows Wisconsin is just playing games and will eventually give in to his sweet lines.
Last week, Sen. Barack Obama pulled out of North Dakota to come snuggle with Minnesota. All of these affairs make the election so much more exciting.
Here are the details from Politico:
John McCain is pulling out of Michigan, according to two Republicans, a stunning move a month away from Election Day that indicates the difficulty Republicans are having in finding blue states to put in play.
McCain will go off TV in Michigan, stop dropping mail there and send most of his staff to more competitive states, including Wisconsin, Ohio and Florida. Wisconsin went for Kerry in 2004, Ohio and Florida for Bush.
Looks like Wisconsin will have to settle. You can't have such a wanted man all to yourself.
