Jessica Lange and Sam Shepard sell their Stillwater home for $1.82 million... finally
At least the housing market is strong enough for celebrities to sell their homes. We were starting to get really concerned about their well-being.
After four years on the market, Jessica Lange and Sam Shepard's estate in Stillwater sold for $1.82 million. The property, 2.5 acres in all, has been on and off the market since 2004.
According to the Pioneer Press, the property of the Oscar-winning actress and the award-winning playwright houses a 6,000-square-foot main home, built in 1892; the guest house; a carriage house; a swimming pool; tiered gardens; a small fruit orchard; ponds; and woods. What does one even do with that much space? Especially in the Twin Cities where you can yell out for a celeb and hear your voice echo right back. It's no fun to own such a home without a line of fake friends to show it to.
The Pioneer Press has the background on the sale of the property:
The estate was for sale in 2004 for $3.3 million. A year later, the selling price had dropped, with the main house (about $2 million) and the guest house/pool house (about $650,000) being offered separately.
They pulled their former home off the market last fall, but listed it again this summer for $1.95 million. The real-estate agent, Jill Roffers of SKY Sotheby's International Realty, said the new owners closed on the house Friday. Roffers would not say who those owners are.
I can sleep happy now.
