Irony of the week: Pawlenty's new hire
Governor HockeyPuck starves the beast his way: More administrative hires!
With the news that Tim Pawlenty is replacing his chief of staff (and former "budget czar") Dan McElroy with state Senator David Gaither comes no chance to weep for McElroy. He'll be scooted over to a new position that Pawlenty is calling "reform czar."
(The Guv's fixation on appointing czars is a matter for another day.)
The main focus of the new position created? Government streamlining.
The office, according to the Strib, will be funded with some $700,000 in unused planning appropriations.
