"I'm still struggling to determine what makes a place 'hipster.'

"If it is embracing modern trends, then every place is hipster. It's not just about bitters.

"PBR in cans is hipster. Tulip glasses for beer is hipster. Not being a lazy bartender who says, 'They won't notice the difference,' is hipster.

"Some people will call any place not serving Appletinis and Mojitos hipster. There is probably someone out there who calls those drinks hipster and blames them for killing Zima.

"Hipster has become an all encompassing phrase that means 'not what I'm used to.'"
