Hey Lutherans, it's okay to call them gays and lesbians
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America opens its church-wide assembly in a few hours. Thousands of Lutherans will be at or around the convention center. And thousands of Lutherans will decide if gays and lesbians in relationships can serve as leaders of their church. Only, they don't call them gays and lesbians, or LGBT, or even LGBTQ. Nope. For this week, queer folk will be referred to as, get ready: PIPALMSGR. I shit you not.
PIPALMSGR. Can't say the queer community is not without blame for turning people into acronyms, but this is ridiculous.
