It's Bad News Friday. GM just announced it plans to close 36 car dealerships in Minnesota.
That's six more than had been anticipated. Combined with the Chrysler dealerships that are closing, means the state will lose about 2,400 jobs, according to the Minnesota Auto Dealers Association. Here's more from the Pioneer Press:
Meanwhile, the association said three quarters of GM dealers in Minnesota are facing some direct disruption of their business. In al, 109 of Minnesota's 149 GM dealers face either elimination, the loss of a brand or the demand that they shed competing manufacturer's brands in their stores.
