Forest Lake canoeist wounded in golf ball attack
A good paddle in the suburbs spoiled: Forest Lake police say a 49-year-old woman and her husband took golf ball fire Sunday evening at Shields Lake, likely from four guys armed with clubs on the adjacent Forest Hills Golf Club.
The paddlers told Forest Lake Police the four golfers were laughing as they hit one ball after another out onto the lake. Ha ha. The poor woman took a shot in the head hard enough to send her to Regions Hospital.
The cops are looking for four males in their late teens or early 20s wearing white ball caps, and checking for leads at Forest Lake High School. Forest Hills Golf Club reported no one had checked out golf carts at the time of the incident; the course is surrounded by private homes and the carts may have come from one or more of them.
