Michele Salentine's career as a Platteville, Wis., cop -- and a chunk of her life -- appears to have gone up in smoke. Federal prosecutors have charged her with hosting a crack house and smoking the drug while on duty.
Tipped off by an informant, the FBI arrested the 28-year-old officer Monday when she showed up for patrol duty in the southwest Wisconsin town. If she's convicted, she could spend 20 years behind bars.
Platteville Police Chief Doug McKinley said the news was a surprise. Salatine has been on the force since 2004, and he had no idea that his officer had been sucking on the pipe for a year.
Salentine clearly needs some help. McKinley might want a refresher course in "how to spot a crack head."
