Eyeesha Hinton Hit with Four-Year Sentence for Role in Sex Trafficking 13-Year-Old Runaway

A 25-year-old Minneapolis woman was sentenced yesterday to four years in prison for her part in attempting to pimp out a 13-year-old Brooklyn Park runaway who was advertised as a 21-year-old on backpage.com.

Eyeesha Hinton took the plea deal in Clay County District Court, admitting guilt to a charge of soliciting an individual to practice prostitution. She had also been slapped with two counts of felony level sex trafficking, but those charges were dropped.

Hinton, along with Prince Jones of Brooklyn Park, were arrested last June after a Moorhead undercover detective responded to an ad on backpage.com advertising services with someone called "ms Kelly 21," who agreed to meet him at a local motel.

When the detective arrived, he was met at the door by a young woman who identified herself as age 18 and said she was there to have sex with a man her sister had arranged for her to meet.

After the man identified himself as a law enforcement official, the victim, who was really a 13-year-old runaway from Brooklyn Park, told him her sister and boyfriend were waiting outside in their car.

When police tried to connect with the couple, they fled the scene.

Hinton and Prince Jones were soon tracked down using GPS.

According to the victim, Hinton and Jones had brought her to Moorhead from Minneapolis in early June to work as a prostitute. She added that after Jones had checked all three of them into the local motel, Jones had sex with her as Hinton slept in the adjacent bed.

Jones is charged with one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct against a 13-year-old and first-degree sex trafficking, both felonies.

He's pled not guilty and is currently awaiting trial.
