Former Viking Letroy Guion thought maybe the old "don't you know who I am" trick could get him out of a routine traffic stop in Starke, Fla. Tuesday night.
According to a report released by the Starke Police Department, the former Florida State football star tried the line while leaning out of his brand new Dodge Ram pickup truck with a "strong odor of marijuana" emanating from within.
The line didn't play, and it went south from there for Guion. See also: Meet the Minnesota Vikings All-Arrested Team
Now standing outside of his brand new Dodge Ram pickup, he became increasingly agitated, telling officers "hey man, my money is in there. Don't let him take my money."
Eventually he rushed toward his truck and tried to grab a big black bag sitting on the passenger seat. Officers had to cuff him, and then they turned their attention to the bag.
Turns out Guion had good reason to be nervous, because officers found two gallon ziplock bags of weed totaling 357 grams along with $190,028.81 cash inside.
They also recovered a 9 mm handgun Guion says is registered to him. He was booked on felony marijuana possession and possession of a firearm in commission of a felony. Bond was set at $100,000.
Guion was drafted by the Vikings in the fifth round in 2009. He played for the Vikings for six years, then signed a deal with the Packers last season and played the best football of his career.
On New Year's Eve ESPN reported Guion was in negotiations with the Packers for a big raise from his original, one-year, $1 million contract.
