Erica Rose Murphy's body found by I-394
A Department of Transportation worker discovered the woman's body in late April. It was laying between the guard rail and sound wall of I-394 near the Dunwoody Boulevard exit.
Police dispatched to the scene quickly notified a responding ambulance that its services wouldn't be needed; a cursory check made it clear the body had been there for a while.
Yesterday we learned from the Hennepin County Medical Examiner that the highway worker had found 19-year-old Erica Rose Murphy.
Her family said she'd been missing since last August. Exactly why, and for how long, her remains were there by the side of a busy freeway is still a mystery.
