Eric Richard charged with murder in Stillwater bar fight that killed Adam McCloud
Eric Richard, left, is charged in the death of Adam McCloud, right.
A spilled drink on the dance floor of Smalley's Caribbean and Pirate Bar in downtown Stillwater was the source of the bar fight that ultimately killed 29-year-old Adam McCloud, according to a criminal complaint filed in Washington County today.
One day after McCloud died in the hospital, Eric Kaprice Richard II, 22, faces two charges: Second-degree unintentional murder while committing a felony, and first-degree manslaughter while committing a gross misdemeanor/misdemeanor with violence.
"That a death was caused over such a trivial thing as this is so tragic as to be beyond belief," says Washington County Attorney Pete Orput in a statement. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to this young victim's family with the message that our office will do all that we can to bring justice to them."
Richard's bail was set at $200,000.
