Emmer trails all Democrats in Rasmussen poll

A new poll released by Fox 9/Rasmussen suggests that Minnesotans support any Democrat in the race for governor over Republican Tom Emmer.

He trails in hypothetical match-ups againstDFLers Margaret Anderson Kelliher, Mark Dayton and Matt Entenza. Independence Party candidate Tom Horner trails badly against all comers.

The last time Emmer got some rotten poll news, in a survey by Decision Resources, the Republican Party of Minnesota launched a legal challenge to the results.

Some spin from right field (Minnesota Democrats Exposed):

What's most interesting is that after all the millions of dollars in ads and negative attacks on Tom Emmer this poll still has him in pretty much the same spot he was in shortly after being endorsed.

And from left field (MN Publius):

This is particularly good news because Rasmussen is a pollster that has a tendency to lean to the right. The reality may be even better for the DFL than it looks here. In fact, in the toplines of the poll, I noticed that Tim Pawlenty had a 49% approval rating, which sounds fairly high. If I had to guess, I'd say that this poll probably overstates Emmer's support.

The poll also shows middling support for president Obama's job performance, support for repealing his health care reform package, strong support for an Arizona-style anti-immigration law, and a split take on Tim Pawlenty's governorship:

How would you rate the job Barack Obama has been doing as President... do you strongly approve, somewhat approve, somewhat disapprove, or strongly disapprove of the job he's been doing? 32% Strongly approve
 17% Somewhat approve
 12% Somewhat disapprove
 38% Strongly disapprove
 1% Not sure

How would you rate the job Tim Pawlenty has been doing as Governor... do you strongly approve, somewhat approve, somewhat disapprove, or strongly disapprove of the job he's been doing? 24%Strongly approve
 25% Somewhat approve
17% Somewhat disapprove
 32% Strongly disapprove
 2% Not sure

A proposal has been made to repeal the health care bill and stop it from going into effect. Do you strongly favor, somewhat favor, somewhat oppose or strongly oppose a proposal to repeal the health care bill? 43% Strongly favor 11% Somewhat favor 11% Somewhat oppose 29% Strongly oppose 5% Not sure

Suppose the new Arizona immigration law was being considered for your state. Would you favor or oppose passage of that law in your state? 62% Favor
27% Oppose
 11% Not sure
