"Drill Baby Drill" makes for dirty politics

itemprop

A locally produced online music video has generated a little bit o’ controversy after hitting the interwebs early this month. One part cheeky political satire and two parts purposefully provocative offensiveness, “Drill Baby, Drill” caught the attention of The New Agenda, a self-described “non-partisan group for women’s rights,” which described the video as “pro-rape.”

Its creator, poet/aspiring filmmaker Ezra Stead, says the video has been pulled off YouTube and his MySpace page. “I’ve been called a racist, a violent criminal and a misogynist,” he says. “Among other things.”

In it, he describes various sex acts he’d like to perform with, um… you know what, just watch the video for yourself. But don’t say you weren’t warned.
