Denny Hecker in fair condition after collision with irony
These are dismal times for Denny Hecker. Last month, the car dealership mogul had his funding yanked by his chief financer, Chrysler Finance. (Compelling him to file suit against his benefactor). A week later, dude closed six dealerships and sold three others.
Now comes word that Hecker--last seen grinning at you from a back-of-a-bus advertisement--was injured in a single-vehicle crash last night in Plymouth.
Hecker's car struck a utility pole on County Road 6 in Plymouth just before 10 p.m. The crash caused a minor power outage in the area, according to WCCO-TV. He was whisked to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, where he's reportedly doing fine (his condition's listed as fair).
Insensitive sidebar: You irony aficionados out there might take issue with the headline, maintaining that this scenario falls short of True Irony. A fair point. In the comment section, please feel free to insert imagined variables, or tweak existing circumstances, to ratchet up the irony. The funniest entry wins a hypothetical prize.
