Danny Elwin Wright dies from hit-and-run
A 55-year-old man who was the victim of an intentional hit-and-run has died. Now St. Paul police are asking for the public's help in tracking down the man who did it.
Danny Elwin Wright was hit outside of a homeless mission. He was rushed to Regions Hospital, where he died Saturday night from head injuries.
Homicide detectives are investigating, and asking for the public's help in finding a two-door blue or green car with a human shaped imprint on the front.
Saint Paul Police are seeking help from the public to find a vehicle and its driver involved in a hit-and-run that critically injured a man. The incident occurred at approximately 5 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2010 in a parking lot located at 435 University Avenue in Saint Paul.
Investigators believe the driver intentionally struck the victim and are investigating this case as an aggravated assault.
Officers were called to the scene at 4:59 a.m. on a report of an accident with injuries. When they arrived, they found the body of a 55-year-old man lying in the parking lot. The victim was transported to Regions Hospital in Saint Paul.
Saint Paul Police are looking for a smaller, two-door dark blue or green car. The car likely has fresh damage to the front end, hood and/or roof. According to witnesses at the scene, the suspect vehicle fled westbound on University from John Street and the driver was a male.
