Dad arrested for baby's death
Remember the sad story of the 7-week-old baby who died on the 4th of July? Minneapolis police arrested the young father over the weekend.
On Saturday morning, Alexander Brennan Heikes, 19, was arrested for the death of his son. He was booked in Hennepin County Jail, and Minneapolis police expect that he'll be charged with murder in the next few days.
The baby, who was also named Alexander Heikes, was killed on July 4th in the 2500 block of Golden Valley Road. Police came to the home just after 4 a.m. on a call of a baby not breathing. The baby was taken to North Memorial Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office ruled the death a homicide, caused by blunt force trauma.
