Congressman wannabe John Howe's website stumbles out of the gate

The Howes — and the family dog?

The Howes — and the family dog?

John Howe is bucking for the job to be vacated next year by GOP Rep. John Kline, Minnesota's Most Reprehensible Congressman (TM).

Howe, the former mayor of Red Wing and GOP state senator, thinks he has the mettle to represent Minnesota's second congressional district that includes the cities of Rosemount, Burnsville, and Prior Lake.

Howe, a 52-year-old businessman and married father of three, kicked off his official bid for Capitol Hill stardom earlier this week. Instead of storming out of the gate like a champ, the aspirant already can't seem to get out of his own way.

Howe's nascent campaign website contains a snapshot of his all-American clan, including what's presumed to be the family dog. Upon closer inspection, the happy-looking canine sure looks like it was photoshopped into the  picture.

Just below the section titled "Local Conservative Leader," there's a picture of Howe with none other than state Rep. Tim Kelly (R-Red Wing), the besmeared, married conservative lawmaker and father of four who last month was busted in an Eagan park tryst with fellow God-fearing, married (to a pastor, no less) Rep. Tara Mack (R-Apple Valley).

What can we expect from a guy who can't even publish a legit photograph?

"It could very well have been [photoshopped]," says Howe. "That's a very old photo... Yeah, taking a closer look here. Yep, that's our dog Orlando and I don't think she was with us at the park."

When asked about the snapshot with Kelly, Howe chuckled, saying, "Maybe that one wasn't the best choice either."
