Coleman to withdraw 650 ballot challenges


Norm Coleman's campaign announced today that it is withdrawing 650 ballot challenges in the U.S. Senate recount, according to Minnesota Public Radio. Yesterday the campaign said they would wait until after the recount was complete. Al Franken withdrew 630 challenges yesterday.

Now it's the challenge drop race between the two candidates. Both say they plan to drop more challenges in the coming days. 

In other recount news, the state Canvassing Board plans to meet Dec. 12 to continue discussing rejected absentee ballots. Franken wants them counted, Coleman doesn't.

The Secretary of State asked counties this week to start looking through rejected absentee votes in case they are included in the final tally.
