Norm Coleman's campaign responded yesterday to Al Franken's attempt to obtain an election certificate so he could work provisionally as Minnesota's senator while the election contest is resolved. As expected, Coleman's campaign is pretty pissed off by the attempt, calling it a "crass political move".
Lucky for them, both Secretary of State Mark Ritchie and Gov. Tim Pawlenty quickly rejected Franken's request, citing law that bars them from issuing the certificate before election contests are resolved.
Big high fives all around for Coleman's side. We're hoping Franken's campaign is shrugging off their feeble attempt at working around the law.
