City clerk accused of giving herself another pay raise

Mendota Heights resident Joan Olin has been accused of giving herself illegal pay raises twice in one year now, first when she was city clerk in Lilydale, and then as city clerk in Mendota.

She held both positions simultaneously, the PiPress reports. She holds neither position now, having resigned.

Mendota's city attorney says Olin boosted her part-time clerk pay in 2008 by $286.89. In Lilydale she's accused of giving herself a five-months-earl pay raise worth $3,300, increasing her life insurance coverage and altering her health insurance withholdings.

No charges have been filed against Olin in the Mendota case. She faces two felony theft charges in Dakota County over the Lilydale accusations.
