Christopher Bjerkness, Duluth's rubber ball slasher, breaks into another gym
Christopher Bjerkness, the Duluth man with a weird and unhealthy obsession for slashing squishy rubber exercise balls, has been caught breaking into another gym.
Police say 33-year-old Bjerkness tripped a security alarm at Duluth's Chester Creek Academy on Sunday afternoon, and school staff caught him in the gym with the balls -- before he could do any damage.
This is the guy who was convicted in 2005 of breaking into the University of Minnesota - Duluth's sports complex several times to damage 40 exercise balls. In 2006, he slashed the balls at the Polinsky Medical Rehabilitation Center. Then he broke into SMDC-Duluth Clinic West building in 2009 and slashed the rubber balls there.
Last summer, he bolted the halfway house where he was staying to fulfill a probation deal, but cops caught up with him before he put more rubber balls in jeopardy.
At the time, police said they were going treat him like a sexual psychopath if he ever tried acting out his fetish again. Maybe this latest escapade will do the trick?
Bjerkness is being held at the St. Louis County jail, pending charges.
