Chris Baker signs off at KTLK-FM
Chris Baker no longer has a megaphone to pollute the airwaves every morning at KTLK-FM. He's off the air.
Good riddance. In the name of ratings, this is a guy who once opined that a transgender man was a mutilated lesbian, and said that former Lakers star Magic Johnson faked having AIDS.
Some other Baker gems:
He once called then-Sen. Barack Obama "Nicolae Carpathia," the Antichrist character in the-end-of-the-world-is-nigh Left Behind series: "I'm getting really sick of being told that if I disagree with Barack Obammy, the Nicolae Carpathia candidate, that I'm a racist."
When the Rev. James Manning spewed a stream of filth about Obama's mother being "a bag of trash sitting on the sidewalk waiting there in Honolulu," Baker was right there in the amen corner: "He's not really wrong, either. That's the best part."
Homeless people and women should be treated equally, Baker once said: "I don't think homeless people should vote. Frankly. In fact, I have to be very honest. I'm not that excited about women voting, to be honest."
Maybe that's why he gave Rep. Michele Bachmann an open microphone last year to broadcast her ignorance. What the Democrats were doing to pass health care reform was "a fiction. It's impossible. It doesn't get anymore dishonest. It's breathtakingly unconstitutional," she said--before admitting that she completely wrong.
