Brock Lesnar featured on videogame cover in defiance of Madden Curse
Say this for Brock Lesnar: he's got big brass ones.
In defiance of the Madden Curse--or perhaps in some new, weird reverse manifestation of it--Lesnar will appear on the cover of the UFC Undisputed 2010 video game after surviving a freak bout of diverticulitis that almost cost him his life--not to mention his mixed martial arts career.
Appearing on the cover of the annual John Madden Football video game has proven to be a harbinger of season-ending injury. Among those felled by the Madden Curse: Daunte Culpepper, Marshall Faulk, Michael Vick, and Brett Favre:
Brett Favre appeared on the cover of Madden NFL 2009, and did not miss any games. However, he later admitted to suffering a torn biceps injury, which Favre says may have affected his gameplay during the final five games of his first and last season with the New York Jets, who missed the playoffs at 9-7 after starting the season 8-3.
