Breakfast of Champions 6/5: Satellite rides

Like Busdriver, I say "let's make friends." Three ways you can run into my bleary-eyed self today:

1. As with every Thursday, I'm on the Stephanie and Meredith show at FM 107.1 at 2 p.m. They probably won't let you in the studio unless you have a good cover story, but you can listen live here.

2. Swing by the BLB sometime between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. I'll be there checking out the Food Network taping that Ben Palosaari writes about. C'mon by, I'll buy you a drink. I'm serious.

3. Tonight, the radio show folks, a few City Pagers and I are going to karaoke at the Uptown VFW. In case you're wondering if I can sing, I can't. But I will try. For your amusement.

To amuse you on the site today, we've got some art and music happenings. Ben Palosaari provides pictures of a restored Dutch masterpiece. Andrea Myers posts a flyer of the week from Dance Band.

Explanation of my aforementioned bleary eyes: I was out until shortly after 1 a.m. watching the Old 97's. For you. You, the reader.

The pro wakeboard tour rips into town this weekend. Weather permitting, it should be a spectacle for the ages. We'll have photos for you Monday morning.

Matt Snyders finds in John McCain's speech a man (an old man) and a metaphor (a biting metaphor). I sincerely hope I never piss Snyders off.

Judd Spicer believes Joe Mauer will win the batting title, and offers five reasons why.
