Bachmann says there's "a spiritual hurricane in our land" as Tropical Storm Isaac approaches [UPDATE] [VIDEO]
God apparently has it out... for Republicans?
Almost exactly one year to the day after she said "I don't know how much God has to do to get the attention of the politicians. We've had an earthquake; we've had a hurricane," Michele Bachmann is again linking severe weather, politics, and God's alleged distaste for liberals.
During a Tampa rally last night, Bachmann told her fellow conservatives, "We are looking at a spiritual hurricane in our land." Her comments came as Tropical Storm Isaac approaches the Gulf Coast from Haiti, where it killed eight people. The storm pushed back the planned start of the RNC from today to tomorrow.
Here's what Bachmann said (via CNN):
At this moment in time we're quite literally looking at a hurricane here in Florida. We're looking at a political hurricane in this country. We are looking at a spiritual hurricane in our land. And it is time for each one of us to show up and suit up and stand up and realize that in this time and in this day we pour it out for Him.
"Pour it out"? Who knew Minnesota's favorite loon was so street-smart?
Joking aside, it's strange for Michele to suggest that Tropical Storm Isaac is a targeted act of God. Because if that's the case, it certainly looks as though He's less than thrilled with the religious heavy-handedness of the big elephant party, doesn't it?

Video of Bachmann's "spiritual hurricane" comments during last night's "fiscal sanity" rally (what an ironic name!) in Tampa has emerged. You have to love how listeners interject "Yeahs!" and "mm hmms!" in between Michele's remarks as if she's MLK Jr. or something. Anyway, here's the footage:
