Aramis Gaither arrested in shooting death of dad, Anthony Gaither
Anthony Gaither, 45, of St. Paul, died on Sunday after being shot in the Dayton's Bluff neighborhood by his own son, Aramis Gaither, according to a statement by St. Paul police. The 18-year-old is in custody on the probable cause charge of murder. His case will be presented to the Ramsey County Attorney's Office on Tuesday.
The shooting took place outside the family's duplex on Bush Avenue about 1:40 p.m., police said. He was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where he died. Aramis Gaither was arrested a few blocks from the duplex.
The Pioneer Press reported that there was a family dispute at the duplex before the shooting, but St. Paul police said it was not clear who was involved in the dispute, and what the motivation was for the shooting.
