Anti-chemo cancer kid remains national media darling

In a day that brought us a new Supreme Court nominee and a historic ruling on gay marriage in California, the national media found time to update the case of Daniel Hauser, the boy who fled from chemo only to return to Minnesota yesterday and conceed to the lifesaving treatment.

Two thoughts occur while watching the above broadcast:

1) The idea that the mother had to flee with her son because he was threatening to run away is a ridiculous notion that any parent in America would scoff at. I doubt he would have gotten far without his mother's help.

2) Asgaard Media, which paid for the flight back and now has exclusive footage of interviews with the family, seems to me to have an unnatural interest (free publicity!) that goes far beyond the claim that the case touched their heart.
