Annie Stensrud, KEYC Mankato "drunk broadcast" anchor, charged with DWI
Anne Stensrud was nearly four times over the limit
Annie Stensrud has been charged with a DWI in connection with a December arrest for drunk driving.
Stensrud became a national celebrity in early December after slurring her way through the opening of a news broadcast for KEYC Mankato, a CBS-Fox affiliate. The embarrassing segment led viewers to speculate that she was drunk and made her the subject of a David Letterman Top Ten List.
A couple weeks later, on December 21, Stensrud was arrested in North Mankato for DWI. She had a blood alcohol concentration of .31 at the time of her arrest, which was just before noon. Now she's been formally charged with one gross misdemeanor count and two misdemeanor counts of drunken driving.
A Nicollet County sheriff's deputy spotted Stensrud's driving and pulled her over. Stensrud "couldn't stand up without holding on to her door and attempted to drive away after refusing to do sobriety tests," according to the Mankato Free Press.
