Reaction to the trade has been mixed. Some Seattle fans are concerned that despite his electric playmaking abilities, Percy's numbers and history of off-the-field issues don't justify surrendering a first-round selection for his services, especially when an elite receiver like Brandon Marshall was deemed to be worth no more than a third-rounder last offseason (see a funny video about those concerns here). But others, including MVP running back Adrian Peterson, think there's no justification for trading away one of the NFL's most dynamic threats.
[jump] This afternoon, AP hopped on Twitter and offered up his reaction to today's big Vikings news:
The best all around player I ever seen or you'll ever see! Goes to Seattle! I feel like I just got kicked in the stomach. Several times!!!
It's understandable that AP would be upset about the offensively challenged Vikings trading away their second-best offensive player. But he has more than $80 million reasons to keep his unhappiness in check, even if the Vikings decide to roll into next season with a wide receiver corps of Jerome Simpson, Devin Aromashodu, and the ghost of Troy Williamson.
I wish my boy Percy nothing but success! God bless you homie-- Adrian Peterson (@AdrianPeterson) March 11, 2013
