A word from a middle-aged Lutheran who doesn't want to be shot

Keith Ellison's mom told him to join the sit-in to get the U.S. House to do more than just offer its "thoughts and prayers" whenever large piles of people get murdered.

Reader Scott Oine responds to Congressman Keith Ellison's mom called and told him to join the House sit-in:

"His constituency" is me — white, middle class, raised a good Lutheran kid with a grandma who taught my Sunday School class, and capable of critical thinking enough to make my own decisions based on the facts.

There're no terrorist organization supporters here — just people who'd like to not be shot with an assault rifle by a deranged American citizen who glommed onto whatever hate-speech he came across on the internet.

And Keith? He really is my Congressman. I couldn't support the job he's doing for our district more.

Go Keith Ellison!
