A New Era For Blotter

Next month brings big changes for Blotter, as Ben Johnson takes over as the City Pages' lead online news writer.

Johnson comes to City Pages from the Downtown/Southwest Journal, where he covered everything and anything Minneapolis. Prior to that, he wrote features for the Star Tribune. While studying at UMD, he put together an oral history of Superior's legendary Anchor Bar, so suffice it to say he should fit in quite nicely here.

Next month also brings big changes for yours truly, as after nearly 4,200 Blotter posts, I'm moving on to another adventure in Twin Cities journalism. You can learn more about that here, but right now I want to take this opportunity to thank you for reading over the past three years.

It's been a pleasure -- an experience I'll cherish forever. I've had so much fun and learned so much sharing stories about life in Minnesota (and Weird Wisconsin too) with you.

I especially want to thank everyone who worked with me here at City Pages. Thanks also to my beloved tipsters, regular commenters, and those of you who offered me constructive criticism -- even when it was harsh, as it sometimes deservedly was. There are too many of you to name individually, but I very much appreciate what you've done to help me become a better journalist and hopefully a better person as well.

Here's to new beginnings and fond memories. Cheers.
