11 die in three days on Minnesota roads
This makes a person sit up and take notice: Eleven people died in accidents on Minnesota roads this weekend, according to the State Patrol.
Friday: A 16-year-old girl, who's name has not been released pending a police investigation, was behind the wheel of a pickup truck that flipped into a ditch on County Road 20 Friday afternoon in Winona County. The accident killed three teenagers: Shauna Marie Ruhoff, 16, and Morgan Zeller, 13, both of Lewiston, and Katie Lee Hornberg, 14, of Altura. Cydney Maker, 12, of Lewiston, is hospitalized. Saturday: Deanna M. Anderson, pulled her Chevrolet Lumina out onto Highway 169 near Onamia just after 6 p.m. and was struck broadside by a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Douglas Hodgeman, 47, Coon Rapids. She was pronounced dead later. Her three passengers, Three passengers in Anderson's vehicle were injured: Her mother, Michele Berger, 37, Brainerd, Denise Anderson, 10, of Onamia, and Danielle Berger, 6, of Onamia. Sunday: Six people were killed in an early-morning head-on collision in Cambridge. The teenage driver of one of the cars survived. Her name has not been released pending investigation by police. Her four passengers died: Kelsee Blackledge, 15; Stephen Kendryna, 16; Travis Buchan, 17; Travis Gryczkowski, 21. Two people riding in an Oldsmobile Bravada SUV that collided with the Grand Am carrying the teens were also killed. Their names haven't been released.
Sunday: At about 8:40 p.m., a 23-year-old woman driver in a Honda Fit northbound on I-35W hit bridge pillars at the intersection of I-494. Details on that crash are expected later Monday.
